Dating in Memphis is done on Thursdays. For some reason people celebrate Thursday nights like it’s 1999, for whatever reason. At any rate I join in on the festivities and advise you to do the same.

Some people become braggarts when consuming their favorite beverages. Whether the big talk covers hitting on an attractive stranger, standing up to a romantic partner, or confronting an unpleasant coworker or boss, plans grow inevitably grander as the night wears on. Delivering this line can either pull the planner back to reality, or serve as the equivalent of a Triple Dog Dare.

Modern-day dating in Orlando can be a challenge, but it doesn’t have to be a nightmare. As matchmakers across the country can attest, little decisions can make or break a date. So the next time you’re stepping out with someone for the first time, pay attention to every gesture, put on a positive attitude, and give your date a chance.

The Ramp is Pier 23’s slightly less uppity first cousin. Also located on the bay, it’s located in a slightly edgier part of town south of AT&T Park. But the sun is just as good and there’s actually more room here so you won’t mind the wait. And because of the locale, there’s a heckuva lot more parking.
