So you know, my life is a dramatic play of roommate drama involving an out of the country landlord, his cronies, and my insane, melodramtic lead is my roommate. Not to bore you with all the incessant details, know that I am no longer living in my house: I’m shacking up with my dear friend Jazz, so that I may be able to write once again! She is a goddess for letting me stay in her lovely home and she even gave me sheets.
Mill Valley is a quick drive over the bridge. The tiny town hosts the world-class film Festival, October 6-16, 2011. Last year, James Franco of 127 Hours the rock and hard place film, was the lauded star; this year Glenn Close (watch one season of Damages and you’ll immediately remember just how brilliant she is) will be feted.
In a world of P.F. Changs, Starbucks and general corporate blandness, Jeannie Trick’s restaurant creation is a welcome refuge. Though it has changed owners, H.O.T. is still a great place for a first or 50th date. Great food, good service, wandering friendly cats and homey decor and expansive vines give it a kitschy country charm.
Friday nights are usually a packed crowd, and don’t be surprised if you spot someone dancing on the bar. Friday night’s from 9 P.M. to Midnight they have the karaoke cranking. Don’t be shy, get up there and belt one out, you probably won’t be worse than anyone else singing. Saturday night’s at Fat Dawg’s from 9 P.M. to closing time they have a live DJ who plays top 40, country, pop, you name it, he plays it. And for you more adventurous types, later in the evening they have a pole dancing contest. Come on guys, get up there and show us your best moves!
My partner in crime needed a break so I cab it down to Main Street solo hoping to get in to the exclusive William Morris Agency party, which some of my friends and E! associates are at. For the first time all week I can’t get in!
Suppose your plans will take you out “on the town” and you’re wondering what to wear for drinks at the Kaffee Klatch, the inevitable bar hopping of down town and maybe even some time on the dance floor.
We need to learn to take everyday opportunities that would otherwise pass us by and use these to our advantage. If you have any inquiries concerning where and how you can use Landtees, you can call us at the web-page. The coffee shop, the t-shirt country, the corner market, even the library, these are all excellent places to start. Now it’s up to us to be prepared for these encounters.
Of course, we aren’t on the list and this time we don’t have a Perez Hilton or Jamie Gold to help us out. “This is the Miramax Party, right? … We’re not on the list? Weird. Yeah, um, we were invited by uh, Adam.” The women at the front clearly sees through our B.S. but after claiming to have forgotten our cards and giving a pleading smile, we convince her we are “important” and make our way inside to mingle with the party-goers. The bash is sponsored by Absolute Vodka and has possibly one of the best buffets we have seen all week. Delish!
