What I would like you to do is to pick a group of your possessions – for example I’m going to say your collection of t-shirts. You’ve got over 50 t-shirts ranging from souvenirs to casual t-shirts to your “special” t-shirt – that one you save for the best occasions. In the first instance, 50 t-shirts is quite a lot! How many of them do you wear? How much money would you spend on your clothes? I’m going to ask you to start eliminating those t-shirts – slowly but surely. Give them away or better still, donate them to charity. Let’s face it, if you’ve kept a t-shirt for a year in the hope of wearing it, and you haven’t as yet, chances are it’s a while before you will.

The next day I was hurting sooo bad at the t-t-shirt shopping and, as you know, the best way to kill a hangover is more alcohol. I kept trying to sneak beers but our stupid boss kept busting me. Doesn’t he realize that WE are the stars of Jersey Shore, not him? We are making six-figures an episode and this jerk thinks he can boss us around. I don’t think so! After work, I went straight to the bar and started doing shots with old people. The last thing I remember is running down the boardwalk looking for the beach.

The second thing to do, remain loyal to your supplier. Remember, they are also in business to make money just like you and loyalty goes a long way in any business. Do not build your relationships based on supply price alone. Just as you will one day need to raise prices, for whatever reason, so will your suppliers. If you go looking for a better price all of the time, not only do you need to start all over with developing relationships but you end up burning bridges with other suppliers.

Keep this in mind, your suppliers are a part of your business, you are not alone. Being friendly and building relationships goes a long way to garnering favor. Not that you are building the relationship merely for your benefit, never be in it for yourself, be in it for you, your customer and your supplier. And when you most need it, that favor will one day be of benefit. This you can count on time and time again!

A great thing to do at anytime is to make a book. A book of family photos of Christmas’ past takes lots of time. There is so much to do at Christmas time that this needs to be done in advance. You can add people you want to remember who have passed away. Photos of kids growing up always makes people smile.

It feels good to sit down in the car. We drive back to Star Video to return Slumdog Millionaire and rent something else. Tropic Thunder. It’s supposed to be funny, right? We’ll find out later tonight.
