At some point in the evening, particularly an evening arranged around a heartbroken friend, one member of the party will lapse into an alcohol-encouraged state of depression. This is not to be confused with clinical depression, for which doctors tend to prescribe something stronger than a commiserating quote. No, this is the moment when a poor, lonely person, down on his or her luck, starts whining about it. This quote gently lets the person know that, yes, you may be feeling desperate, but so is almost everyone else here. On the other hand, if you are the whiner, you can also use it to let your “buck up, little camper” friends know that what you’re feeling is perfectly normal – and frankly, they would feel it too if their heads were clearer.

Granted, I don’t feel comfortable going into my favorite coffee shop (Grounded on Jane street) and logging on to my profile and sending out 50 emails while they charge me for every minute. Can you put a price on your love life? Oh wait, that was the three month subsciption I shelled out.
What makes a good nightclub great is the inclusion of live music. A club that plays top 40s is all well and good, but a club that has a house DJ or a local band on stage brings the feeling of a big event to the club. Hearing song mash-ups or remixes spun from an artist’s turntable gets everyone on their feet and moving. And a live band makes a crowd roar. This makes the club the must-see hot spot for lovers of nightlife.
The crowd that can be expected is not your preppy, polo shirt wearing snobs. Most of them have tattoos and piercings and lean towards the rocker side of the spectrum. Don’t mistake this for the Emo type either. It’s mainly just a bunch of people who enjoy music and beer.
One of Frye’s best selling boots is the rugged and simple, yet durable “Engineer” boot, which comes in several editions. This model is tough and exudes a cross between a construction worker and someone who is on her way to a whole in the wall t-shirt country or a back alley club. It can be used for work and for play. The “Engineer” is the quintessence of a hard-wearing, long-lasting lifestyle with an incognito tip of the hat to fashion.
I had to stop in this little redneck joint called the Dew Drop Inn. Everybody that was sitting at the bar had a cowboy hat on and everybody was drunk. I asked one old fella with no front teeth how to get to the store and he spit a large wad of tobacco onto my brand new Nike’s. I quickly left the bar and found my own way.
The Dame’s old neighbor, Buster’s, is opening soon after The Dame closes on Aug. 23. And Nick Sprouse, The Dame’s talent buyer and general manager, said had Buster’s not been opening, he would not have closed. But he feels like The Dame’s void will be filled.
