The waterfall is gorgeous-definitely worth the uphill hike. (See figures 1 and 2.) We rest on a big rock for several minutes, enjoying the view, hoping the sweet little old ladies don’t accidentally tumble over the edge (they’re posing for a picture, and getting too close to the waterfall, if you ask me). Then we turn around and head back. It’s downhill the whole way. Wheeeeeee!

You need to attract people to your Web T-t-shirt shopping. You need to know for which keywords they are searching, and you need to know how many pages the search engines find for those keywords. You want the most people searching and the fewest pages competing. You can find out both for free using Google’s keyword tool and the regular Google search. At WordTracker, you can pay $60 per month to save time and effort, or $27.50 per month if you buy their service by the year.

You could dream of those transfers, a great glittering cobra or a monster truck or a cool picture of Mr. T. All these pictures were awesome and none of them would look on a t-shirt. All of these would be good on a t-shirt today, does not need to be more 1985. You have more choices these days.

If you want to personalize your slogan then go for the fully customized t-shirts. It will give you the scope of printing whatever you like on them. You can even have your own picture printed on both sides of the tee & sport them outside. These kinds of tees having slogans & phrases are also a very great way for cheering your team in any game. Famous football clubs like Manchester United & Barcelona have started giving their fans the team t-shirts for supporting them on the fields. It really creates a very nice experience.

There are several routes to go regarding branding and art licensing. The most usual is one’s own website featuring one’s own artwork, writing, products with your art such as tee shirts, clocks, mouse pads, etc. This is how I started with my cartoon site in 1997. I didn’t really have anything to sell, but, strangely enough, after my creative team and I produced a few hundred cartoons, we received a call from a San Diego T shirt manufacturer who wanted to buy the rights to 12 of our images for ten thousand dollars. We took it without blinking an eye. That was around 1998. We thought we “had arrived”. Many humbling experiences would squelch that thought in a millisecond.

Boston, Massachusetts residents won’t have to travel to the Jersey Shore to buy Ronnie Ortiz-Magro’s new t-shirts. The creations will be readily available online on a website dedicated to the clothing line, called Jersey Laundry. Be ready with your credit card in late February when the website launches.

First, I decided on full color. Then decided on much more text and less emphasis on the brand of characters, and more on the essence/spirit of the cartoon, that is, the theme of the cartoon would be similar, even if the subject matter was often different. There is so much one can “brand” in a single panel. I also realized that I didn’t want to just tackle one subject, but many. So I categorized them into medical, science, law, celebrities, music, sports, relationships, etc. This opened doors to all kinds of potential markets. Keep in mind, if one is marketing to, say, university textbook publishers, and one only creates physics cartoons, not a lot of textbook publishers are going to take a second glance, that is, unless they only publish physics textbooks. Hence the variation of subject matter.
